Job summary

Fairview Range is seeking a Manager of Surgical Services (RN) in Hibbing, MN. Lead nursing care delivery, HR, operations, and quality improvement for the surgical unit while ensuring regulatory compliance and staff development.

The role emphasizes clinical leadership, budget oversight, and fostering evidence-based practice across shifts, including days, evenings, and nights as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts in Nursing or related field; if not nursing, must have master’s in nursing.
• 2 years surgical services clinical nursing experience.
• MN Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current certification in Surgical Services, or willing to obtain within 2 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
• ICS 100, 200, and 700 certifications, or willing to achieve within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in problem solving.
• Serve as a role model for all staff.
• Manage change using a planned, orderly approach.
• Demonstrate ability to implement problem-solving in routine and emergency situations.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to staff.
• Ensure implementation and development of standards of practice in patient care.
• Develop and implement department-specific orientation/education/competency programs.
• Provide staff with education and resources to deliver evidenced-based programs.
• Ensure staff completion of organizational and department educational requirements.
• Lead monthly unit meetings and communicate organizational plans.
