Job summary
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton, Inc. is seeking a Director of Surgical Services to provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight for OR, PACU, Endoscopy, Pre‑Admission Testing, CSP, scheduling and inventory management.
The role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and partners with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nursing teams to improve quality and workforce engagement. The director will drive strategic planning, block scheduling, budgeting, and data‑driven performance improvement,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's in Nursing or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years as a Nurse Manager in Surgical Services.
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services; OR experience preferred.
- Massachusetts RN license and knowledge of federal/state healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire Nurse Managers across OR, PACU, and Endoscopy.
- Direct Surgical Services Educator and CSP leadership.
- Oversee centralized surgical scheduling and inventory management.
- Drive budgeting, contracts, and equipment acquisition.
- Lead process improvement, governance, and strategic planning.
- Ensure regulatory and clinical excellence per AORN, TJC, CMS.
- Collaborate with surgeons on product evaluations and scheduling.
- Monitor billing processes and conduct audits for accuracy.
