Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a Surgical Technician to support OR and GI Lab procedures. The role requires preparing rooms, aiding in patient positioning, and ensuring sterile technique for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients, family and co-workers.
• Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients for treatment.
• Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure or GI Lab procedure.
• Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
