Job summary

Great Bend Hospital is seeking a part-time Scrub Technician to support the operating room team. The role involves maintaining asepsis, preparing instruments, and providing instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Requirements include BLS (or BCLS), completion of a scrub tech program, and CST/LPN/EMT credentials or equivalent experience. This position emphasizes patient safety and teamwork in a surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Basic life support certification (BLS) or BCLS.
• Completion of a certified scrub technician program.
• Two or more years of direct scrub experience in hospital, surgery center, or military setting can substitute for CST/LPN/EMT credential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asepsis, positioning, prepping and draping, needle and instrument counts, specimen care, and dressing applications.
• Prepare instruments and supplies for sterilization; decontaminate instruments; assist in cleaning/preparing OR for next case.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation to surgeon.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report to RN/Charge Nurse.
• Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies as assigned; adapt duties as needed.
