Job summary

USPI New Mexico Surgery Center Multi Specialty Downtown is hiring a Surgical Tech to join our orthopedic and spinal procedure team. The role emphasizes maintaining sterile fields, prepping instruments, and assisting the surgical team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Candidates should have a Scrub Technician program and at least two years of scrub experience, with strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient safety practices. This is a full-time in-house position at our downtown center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a Scrub Technician Program is required.
• Two years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and prepare supplies for procedures.
• Assist circulating nurse and surgical team to maintain sterile environment.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and intra-operatively.
• Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
• Handle specimens and transport equipment for cleaning and reprocessing.
• Follow safety guidelines and protect patient privacy.
