Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada is seeking a part-time Surgical/Scrub Tech on our Surgery Unit. The role involves monitoring PAR levels of surgical instruments and Pain management supplies, and cleaning and sterilizing instruments used in the OR and Pain Center.

Qualifications include Surgical Technician Certification within 6 months of hire (or verifiable prior hospital experience), current BLS, and preference for Main OR experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician Certification required (within 6 months of hire) or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience prior to 1/1/2018.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Main OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients and family.
• Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary.
• Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
