Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED PLUS Graduate of an accredited Scrub Technologist school/program, or 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
Ability to follow oral instructions, read, and write
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years on-the-job training (OJT) surgical/scrub experience at an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center.
Additional Information:
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning, and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment, including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
Responsibilities:
Assembles supplies for surgical procedures, maintains the sterile field, passes surgical instruments, and assists in room preparation.
Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases.
Responsible for the preparation of the Operating Rooms
Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use.
Ensures that the instruments are cleaned, arranged, and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy; independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits.
Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases;
Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment, including maintenance and safety aspects.
May perform other duties as assigned.
