Description:

The Surgical Technician / Operating (OR) Tech (uncertified, certified, unlicensed, or licensed) works in a collaborative environment at St. Mary within Surgical Services to provide safe, quality healthcare services and/or assistance to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse or other designated healthcare professional. The role requires additional training through in-house certifications or successful completion of role-specific certification or licensing, in accordance with experience, education, policies, and procedures.

What You Will Do:
  • Employment Type/Shift: FT days
  • Certification required
  • Participate in direct one-to-one patient observation to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Engage in therapeutic communication and assist nurses and designated healthcare professionals in maintaining detailed records, ensuring clear communication within the care team, and working with patients and families.
  • Serve as a resource (lead), role model, and/or mentor.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in high school, completing a GED, or having obtained a high school diploma or GED.
  • Specialty license, certification, training, or experience according to assignment area in the applicable state(s) of engagement.
