Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Surgical Scrub Tech to join our operating room team in Marquette, MI. The role involves preparing the surgical suite, assisting with patient positioning, passing instruments, and handling specimens, with on-call duties as required.

Candidates should have completed a Certified Surgical Technology Program and hold BLS-HCP certification, with a preference for 1 year of related experience. Competitive benefits and a $7,500 sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technology Program.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Performs on call services as requested.
• Actively participates and ensures room turnovers are efficient and timely.
• Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
• Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
