United Surgical Partners International is hiring a PRN Surgical Scrub Tech in Citrus Heights, CA. The role supports the surgical team by maintaining sterility and assisting with supplies in the operating room.

The position requires one year of Scrub Tech experience and familiarity with medical terminology. Compensation ranges from $45 to $49 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room

Responsibilities

• Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.
• Assists circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining sterile environment.
• Assists circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
• Responsible for doing sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.
• Retains all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with surgeon.
• Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
• Follows all equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.

Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Clinical Director/Administrator

Salary Range: $45- $49/hr Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
