Job summary

You will obtain documentation, coordinate with departments, and ensure optimal facility utilization to support patient care. Strong clerical skills, basic computer skills, and familiarity with Cerner scheduling are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.
• Knowledge of Cerner scheduling preferred.
• Requires general knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy to record examinations and diagnoses.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, therapy services and other medical appointments timely and accurately.
• May obtain related documentation (e.g., patient information, insurance coverage).
• Coordinate scheduling with other departments and facilities.
• Ensure optimal utilization of patient facilities to support patient care.
• Maintain records, code charges, and perform related clerical duties.
• Ensure timely receipt of written orders and verify orders meet compliance guidelines.
• May be responsible for charge audit functions for the department.
