Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of tests, procedures and surgeries under the direction of the Practice Supervisor or Manager and physicians.
• Schedules procedures promptly and ensures proper equipment is ordered.
• Verifies patient demographics and obtains precertification from the payer.
• Communicates appointments and surgical prep information to patients.
• Arranges co-surgeon or assistant as needed and coordinates cross-department scheduling.
• Ensures pre-op procedures and documentation are completed and shared with departments.
• Maintains block time guidelines at each hospital and coordinates postoperative care.
• Obtains surgical billing information and reconciles surgical charges with coding.
