The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients. **Job Duties*** Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.* Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.* Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.* Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.* Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.* Other duties as requested or assigned.**Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* Excellent communication skills.* Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
