Surgical Scheduler - Full Time Day Shift - Novi

Join Henry Ford Health as a Surgical Scheduler in Novi, MI. This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate OR schedules, optimize resource use, and support surgical operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate OR schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff.
• Work with physician offices to gather necessary information for surgery scheduling, considering department guidelines, physician requests, and patient needs.
• Coordinate meetings and perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Assign operating suites and equipment, and block times to optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure demographic, billing, and insurance information is accurately entered into electronic medical records and coordinate with Patient Admitting to prevent delays.
• Reschedule surgeries as needed to accommodate emergencies or unforeseen events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Professional licensure or certification can substitute for education or experience if applicable.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with insurance authorizations and billing processes.
