Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage surgical and procedural patient bookings within the scheduling system. The role requires precise accuracy, professional interaction with physicians and staff, and timely printing of daily and weekend schedules to optimize OR use.

Excellent phone and email responsiveness, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential for smooth patient flow and departmental coordination. A high school diploma and related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related work experience with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Create and schedule patients for surgical/procedural procedures in Scheduling module.
• Print daily OR schedule for the following day and weekend schedule as needed.
• Answer all incoming calls with a professional greeting.
• Monitor and return voicemail messages promptly.
• Respond to department emails as assigned.
• Rearrange cases per physician or staff requests across OR and related labs.

Job description

Position Objective:

Overall responsibility for scheduling surgical/procedural patients' surgical/procedural procedures achieving 98% accuracy rate.

Essential Job Duties:

Communicates professionally with physicians, physicians' office staff and co-workers providing excellent customer service skills and works collaboratively with a variety of individuals.

Create and schedule patients for surgical /procedural procedures in the appropriate Scheduling module. As needed prints daily OR schedule for the following day as well as weekend schedule.

Answers all incoming phone calls with proper greeting 100% of the time. Continuously checks department and individual voicemail throughout the day returning phone messages promptly.

Responds to department emails as assigned in department rotation.

Rearranges cases upon request of physicians or physicians' staff and/charge nurse of HP OR, ESP OR, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath lab.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two years of related work experience with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required
