Job summary

Swift Creek Animal Hospital in Raleigh, NC seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to lead surgery and anesthesia support in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

The successful candidate will spend most of the schedule in surgical cases, with opportunities to apply advanced patient care skills across appointments and in the operating room. Excellent teamwork and patient-focused care are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is required.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing experience.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for surgery and pre-operative assessments.
• Calculating anesthetic protocols under veterinarian supervision.
• Placing and maintaining IV catheters.
• Administering medications via SQ, IM, and IV routes.
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia.
• Performing intubation and extubation.
• Monitoring ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, BP, temperature, and depth of anesthesia.
• Maintaining detailed anesthesia records.
• Assisting with pain management and post-operative recovery.
• Preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining surgical packs and supporting an efficient surgical suite.
