Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO is seeking an Operating Room Assistant (ORA) to support surgical teams by keeping the OR clean, organized, and efficient. The ORA works with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists to anticipate needs and provide essential support during procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up rooms per procedure cards.
• Ensures availability of equipment, instruments, OR beds, and stretchers in collaboration with staff.
• Transports and delivers items (equipment, medications, specimens) throughout the facility.
• Performs low-level disinfection of equipment.
• Assists with patient transport to the OR holding area and helps with lifting, positioning, and transferring patients.
• Supports rapid turnover of rooms by cleaning and removing trash/linen and equipment.
