Job summary

Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Surgical Services. This full-time role covers PreOp/Circulator/PACU with a Monday - Friday day-shift plus on-call responsibility, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 24-month commitment.

The RN will work with the surgical team, maintain sterile fields, assist anesthesia, and monitor patient safety, comfort, and family communication.

Qualifications

Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse.
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Licensed to practice nursing in Texas.

Responsibilities

Perform duties for the surgical patient in accordance with the Nursing Standards of Care and AORN Standards and will implement and evaluate that care utilizing the Nursing Process
Will function as a member of the surgical team linking sterile and non-sterile fields
Will organize and oversee the operating room during the surgical procedure by maintaining surgical records, assisting anesthesia as needed, keeping the patient’s family informed of the patient’s condition
Assure patient safety and comfort, assisting scrub team in maintaining sterile field, controlling, and maintaining equipment and supplies
