Job summary

SSM Health in Baraboo, WI seeks an experienced surgical nurse to cover pre/post op for Ortho, Cataracts, General, Gyn, ENT and Endo, plus PACU support. Flexible start times; 1 call night every 3 weeks and every 12th weekend for PACU. Requires 2 years RN experience and RN licensure with BLS HCP.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years minimum RN experience.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BLS Healthcare Provider (HCP) certification and RN licensure may be required (state-specific).

Responsibilities

• Accepts patient care assignments as directed and communicates with the team.
• Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and documents findings.
• Involves patients/families in care planning and discharge planning.
• Plans and intervenes using basic nursing skills and maintains a safe environment.
• Evaluates care and follows up with post-op calls and patient responses.
• Administers medications and treatments per policy; uses evidence-based practice.
