Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services at Beloit Memorial Hospital to deliver perioperative care in OR and PACU, collaborating with physicians, surgeons and anesthesia teams.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Wisconsin RN license or compact license, CPR within 3 months, and nursing care across lifespan. The position offers a 1st shift, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 40 hours with on-call rotation and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Wisconsin RN license, compact license, or temporary permit (compact license requires Wisconsin licensure within 30 days).
CPR certification within three months of hire.
Knowledge and skills to care for patients across the lifespan (neonatal to geriatric).

Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver individualized nursing care based on established nursing standards and scientific principles.
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the surgical team.
Educate patients and families during all phases of care.
Prepare operating rooms and equipment for procedures.
Monitor patient safety and identify risks, taking appropriate action.
Assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout care.
Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions.
Document patient care and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Assist with inventory management and charge capture.
Float to various clinical areas as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
