Job summary

Desert Care Network in Joshua Tree, CA, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. This full-time role provides perioperative nursing across pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, including patient education and emotional support to ensure comfort and safety.

You will collaborate with surgeons and staff to optimize outcomes, with a sign-on bonus up to $25,000 and a competitive hourly wage. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma from accredited nursing program.
• California Registered Nurse license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 90 days of hire.
• Sufficient previous clinical experience as a First Assist.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-operative nursing care and assessments, educates the patient, and provides emotional support.
• Performs intra-operative nursing duties with surgeon and team; assists anesthesia; prepares skin, drapes, and manages tissue handling.
• Performs post-operative duties including safe transfer to recovery and communicating with care team and family.
• Maintains a safe environment for surgical patients and supervises ancillary staff as needed.
• Demonstrates scrubbing and circulating proficiency and provides patient education about procedures.
• Contributes to quality improvement activities in the surgical suite.
