Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse; RNFA must have CNOR and Certification from an RNFA program; NP in RNFA role must have completed RNFA Certification program. Current CPR certification required.
• Basic knowledge of a PC including internet and email use.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon with intra-operative procedures beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA training.
• Provide direct care to patients using the nursing process preoperatively, intra‑operatively, and postoperatively.
• Cauterize, suture, incise skin, and provide exposure during surgery.
