Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is actively seeking a Surgical RN First Assistant for the 6K Operating Room. Under general supervision, you will deliver patient care, plan and document assessments, and communicate goal-directed plans of care with the team.

You will also serve as a first assistant on operative cases, upholding the hospital’s mission and commitment to quality improvement and patient safety. Requires BSN, Florida RN license, perioperative RN experience, and RNFA certification.

Qualifications

• BSN required;
• Florida RN license to practice;
• Minimum of two years perioperative RN experience;
• RNFA certification by AORN

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients under general supervision and according to established policies and guidelines.
• Perform as a first assistant on assigned surgical cases.
• Document nursing assessments and communicate goal-directed plans of care.
• Ensure patient rights and participate in quality improvement efforts.

Description

Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments, identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention, formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Performs as a first assistant on assigned cases. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.

Qualifications

• BSN required


• Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.


• Minimum of two years of perioperative Registered Nurse experience.


• Certification as an RNFA by the AORN
