Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse (IA)
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire
• Ability to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care plan with physician input
• Provides nursing care guided by orders, protocols and professional judgment
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients and families
• Participates in ongoing educational activities to maintain clinical knowledge
• Delivers care preserving patient autonomy, dignity and rights
• Initiates emergency support measures as needed
• Maintains and uses hospital information systems for orders and patient data
• Ensures documentation requirements for patient records are met
