Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse in the Surgery Department at Mount Carmel East in Columbus, OH. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to nursing standards within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

You'll provide care across a trauma-capable surgical service with 24-7 coverage. The department focuses on work-life balance and professional development opportunities, including RN residency and BSN pathways.

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
• New graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience are subject to participate in the Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety and promotes evidence-based practice.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients and develops a care plan.
• Communicates pertinent information to the team in a timely manner and keeps patient/family updated.
• Documents assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately and in accordance with standards.
• Assumes responsibility for care provided and documentation by other caregivers as appropriate.
