DCI Donor Services in Knoxville seeks a Surgical Recovery Coordinator (surgical technologist) to support the recovery, preservation, packaging, and distribution of organs for transplantation and research. The role requires collaboration with transplant surgeons and donor coordinators to ensure compliant, timely organ handling.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), 1–2 years in OPO/healthcare, and ISOP Level 1 certification by year one, with strong computer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One to two years OPO or health care experience is required; operating room experience preferred.
• ISOP Level 1 certification by completion of year one is required.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office and data entry skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary responsibility for the renal preservation process including pumping and pump transport.
• Performs extensive on-call responsibilities to assist with donor recovery activities.
• Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery, preservation, and packaging of organs with transplant surgeons and/or organ recovery coordinators.
• Coordinates and assists with organ allocation, including kidney and liver placement, distribution, and transportation of organs for transplantation and/or research.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

• Coordinates and assists with organ allocation, including kidney and liver placement, distribution, and transportation of organs for transplantation and/or research in accordance with policies and standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• One to two years OPO or health care experience required, operating room experience preferred.
• Health-related certification and ISOP Level 1 by completion of the first year.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications and basic data entry skills required.
