Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking an X-Ray Tech to interview patients, position them for X-ray procedures, and operate radiology equipment across X-ray, C-arm, CT, MRI and mammography, following safety guidelines.

The role requires an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program graduate, 2+ years in a surgical setting, and NC licensure or eligibility, plus strong communication and teamwork. A robust benefits package is provided and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum of two years as a technologist in a surgical setting.
• Current BLS certification through an ARC or AHA accredited program.
• Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligible within 1 year of hire and licensed by the NC State Board of Radiologic Technologists.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain history and inform about safety, contrast media contraindications and procedures.
• Demonstrates compliance with state, federal and accrediting standards in radiology.
• Maintains equipment and handles biohazard materials safely.
• Ensures patient and employee safety with proper radiation safety practices and documentation.
• Positions patients and prepares them for X-ray procedures per protocol and within time frames.
• Transports equipment and patients safely to prevent injuries.
• Performs X-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, mammography as needed according to competency.
