Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiologic equipment and produce clinical diagnostic images under physician direction. You will prepare patients, adjust equipment, determine exposure settings, and ensure ALARA practices during procedures.

The role involves operating c-arm equipment, coordinating schedules, and performing portable imaging across hospital areas. Mentors and trains students while maintaining high-quality imaging and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Associate's or certification from an accredited School of Radiology.
• Radiography (R) - ARRT within 60 Days.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and adjusts equipment for exposure and positions patients for procedures.
• Determines proper voltage/current and exposure time; uses ALARA and lead shielding as appropriate.
• Operates c-arm equipment to provide quality images for surgeons and radiologists.
• Coordinates surgery schedules to ensure timely radiology service for procedures.
• Performs clerical duties and uses In House PACS and teleradiology as needed.
• Takes portable X-ray images around the hospital and observes sterile techniques.
• Mentors students and assists in training in the School of Radiological Technology.
• Produces high quality images for radiologist interpretation and maintains records.

Education
