Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a Surgical Processing Educator to provide instruction and support for Surgical Processing Technicians, including onboarding, annual competency assessments, and ongoing equipment and regulatory training. The role collaborates with the Perioperative educator to align clinical staffing with operational needs.

Requirements include five years in Sterile Processing with at least one year in an educator role, plus CRCST and CER certifications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• CRCST and CER certifications obtained through an internationally recognized organization are required. Current CRCST is required upon hire. If not CER certified, CER must be obtained within six months of hire date.
• Requires five years of experience in Sterile Processing with at least one year as an educator in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support on topics pertinent to Surgical Processing Technicians, including onboarding new hires, annual competency, annual skills fair, and ongoing skills assessments for new equipment, standards and regulatory updates.
• Collaborate with Perioperative clinical educator to provide instruction and support for topics pertinent to clinical staffing that impact operations in the Surgical Processing Department.
• Assist in hiring new staff and prepare for TJC and DOH surveys.
