Job summary

Trinity Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant I to join our operating room team. The PA will provide surgical assistance, perform post‑op rounds, and manage admissions, daily progress notes, and orders under the supervision of the attending surgeon.

The ideal candidate will have ARC-PA certified PA education, PANCE, Maryland license, and CDS/DEA prescriptive authority, with strong communication and teamwork skills and the ability to work in OR and inpatient

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Passed the PANCE.
• Must maintain current Maryland PA licensure.
• Must qualify for prescriptive authority (CDS/DEA).
• Must have BLS Certification.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical assistance in the operating room as requested by the surgeon.
• Develop laparoscopic and DaVinci robotic first assist skills.
• Perform daily post-operative rounds and coordinate patient care under supervision.
• Conduct admission H&Ps, daily progress notes, orders, and discharge/transfer summaries.
• Evaluate patients in the ED and on the surgical floor as directed by the attending surgeon.
• Assist with bedside procedures (central venous catheter, thoracostomy, arterial lines, PICC).
• Support quality initiatives and compliant billing processes.
