Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a Sr Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery to manage inpatient care for surgical patients at our new hospital in Irvine, CA. You will work closely with surgeons, residents, and nursing staff to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across multiple surgical services.

Responsibilities include pre/postoperative care, rounding, operating room assistance, and care coordination from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care management for surgical patients.
• Coordinate procedures including scheduling operations and other procedures.
• Participate in rounds and hand-offs with surgery teams.
• Assist in the operating room with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
• Triage phone calls, review labs, and obtain patient histories.
• Discharge planning and follow-up; manage admissions and H&P.
• Maintain professional documentation and communication across care teams.
