Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to join our care team. The role includes taking patient histories, performing exams, and contributing to plan of care while coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The PA will write orders, interpret tests, participate in rounds, and assist with discharge planning and post-discharge instructions, under the ADA essential duties framework. A strong credential set is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Current New York State PA license.
• NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Documents and communicates the plan of care and follows up for complete screening and preparation of patients.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
• Interprets laboratory and test results.
• Confers with physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure quality patient care.
• Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts upon discharge.
• Informs patients of post-discharge care instructions.
• Performs related duties as required; essential functions per ADA.
