The role requires a BA/BS, graduation from an accredited PA program, MA PA licensure, and ACLS certification, with credentialing participation and a strong team-based approach to perioperative services.

Opportunity:

Advanced Practitioner / Advance Practice Provider / Physician Assistant

Job Details:

• Weekend-only schedule consisting of two 10-hour shifts each weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday coverage may be required when holidays fall on a weekend based on hospital census needs
• Practice exclusively in the inpatient setting, providing care across the hospital, operating room, and emergency department
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing full focus on acute surgical care and perioperative management
• Provide comprehensive inpatient surgical care working closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams
• Support patients throughout their surgical journey, assisting with perioperative management and clinical decision-making
• Cover General Surgery as well as subspecialty services including Vascular Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery
• Responsible for initial assessment and admission of surgical patients
• Assist in the evaluation and preparation of patients for surgery
• Act as first and second assistant in the operating room
• Provide post-operative patient care and assist in preparing patients for discharge
• BA/BS degree and graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required
• Current license in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Physician Assistants required
• Must apply and be approved for credentialing
• Current ACLS certification required
• Minimum one (1) year of postgraduate experience as a surgical physician assistant required
• Must meet vaccination requirements as a condition of employment

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
