Job summary

Boone Health in Columbia, MO seeks a Patient Care Technician for Surgical Specialties (Day shift). You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and support patient safety and education in a fast-paced surgical setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety standards, and ongoing professional development in a hospital environment. This is a full-time daytime position with weekend/holiday rotation requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a professional or practical nursing education program or certified nursing assistant.
• Certified nursing assistant preferred or eligible for licensure.
• Experience as nurse assistant, EMT, or surgical tech within 3 years is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision.
• Performs ADL assistance, vital signs, I&O, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, Foley care, and phlebotomy or point of care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes to the nurse; assists with patient and family education.
• Documents all patient care activities and ensures supplies and equipment are available.
• Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance activities and 1:1 safety sitters when necessary.
