Job summary

Avanos Medical, Inc. in Newark, NJ is seeking a Territory Manager for Surgical Pain to cover NJ, NYC, and Eastern PA. You will drive sales of On-Q and Ambit Pump Pumps, building relationships with surgeons, physicians, nurses and administrators, with up to 50% travel including overnights.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and deep product knowledge, with a history of meeting sales targets and navigating hospital buying processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• At least four years of proven sales success, with two in medical sales to surgeons, hospitals, and ASCs.
• At least one year in an operating room setting.
• Understanding hospital/ASC buying processes including GPOs, IDNs and distributors.
• Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and value-based care concepts.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with surgeons, physicians, therapists, nurses and administrators.
• Be present during surgical procedures to answer product questions in OR settings.
• Close new sales opportunities and protect existing market share.
• Be in the field at least 4.5 days per week engaging with customers.
• Contribute to strategic planning with Regional Manager.
• Sales positioning and in-servicing of product categories addressing pain points.
• Drive contract management and local price negotiations.
• Demonstrate deep clinical knowledge of medical devices.
