Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an experienced Surgical Orthopedic Coder for a contract-to-hire role in Virginia. You will review and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes for orthopedic services, including hip and knee replacements, spine surgeries, and sports medicine, while maintaining high accuracy and clear documentation.

Requirements include 3+ years of orthopedic coding, CPC or CCS-P certification, and strong EPIC experience preferred. Flexible scheduling with onsite and remote consideration offered.

Qualifications

Surgical Orthopedic Coder

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Orthopedic Coder for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position requires strong orthopedic surgical coding knowledge and the ability to confidently review and support coding decisions.

Responsibilities

• Review and assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes for orthopedic services
• Code diagnostics, follow-up visits, procedures, and surgical services
• Review charts involving:
• Hip and shoulder joint replacements
• Neck and back surgeries
• Foot and ankle procedures
• Sports medicine
• Imaging and therapy services
• Telemedicine
• Maintain a minimum 95% coding accuracy
• Clearly explain and support coding decisions when needed
• Collaborate with team members and share orthopedic coding expertise

Qualifications

• 3+ years of orthopedic/surgical coding experience
• Active CPC or CCS-P certification
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Schedule & Training

• Monday–Friday
• Training: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
• After training: Flexible schedule between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM EST
• EPIC training, orientation, and workflow shadowing provided
