Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification per policy (briefing, time-out, debriefing).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be part of a dynamic inter-disciplinary team and use nursing process, critical thinking and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up.
