Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a Seasonal PRN basis with a full-time schedule within the Seasonal program. The role requires ACLS and BLS within 30 days, and at least one year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1-year Registered Nurse experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, clinical judgment and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
