Job summary

Franklin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Surgery Department in a full-time capacity. You will assist in preparing the operating room, handling patient transport, and supporting anesthesia and surgical staff to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with positioning, maintaining sterile technique, counting sponges, and contributing to on-call coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current registration with the Louisiana State Board of Nurses Examiners.
• Preparation in Operating Room Techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgery for scheduled days and assist as needed.
• Transport patients to surgery and assist as needed.
• Assist Anesthetist with blood pressure cuff and started infusions.
• Position patients safely and properly.
• Prepare operative area when patient is ready and assist during gowning.
• Assist Scrub Nurse and Surgeon as necessary; count sponges and keep records.
• Maintain room cleanliness and help with wrapping and handling supplies.
