Qualifications

• Graduated from an approved School of Nursing or extensive surgical training.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Med/Surg.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up OR for surgery and prepare the room with needed supplies.
• Assist the surgeon with the procedure.
• Maintain sponge, instrument and needle counts at defined points.
• Clean instruments and OR and document chart entries.
• Assist physician in ER when on call and set up instruments as needed.
• Mails specimens to pathology and logs in lab records when required.
• Set up equipment for diagnostic procedures and assist during studies.
