Job summary

The OR Assistant will be a member of the Care delivery team within the Pre-op, Operating Room, PACU, EP Lab, Hybrid OR, and may assist in Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology under RN supervision. They provide delegated patient care, complete daily tasks by checklist, and support turnover with sterile supplies and patient transport.

Requires Certified Nursing Assistant or related experience; strong reading of safety rules and manuals is needed.

Qualifications

• Certified nursing assistant or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Set up oxygen delivery and monitoring for patient care during transport.
• Transport patients via cart or bed between departments.
• Verify patient location with inpatient unit/floor before transport.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of OR areas and rooms.
• Prepare requisitions for housekeeping, maintenance and supplies; ensure adequate par levels.
