We seek an exceptional professional to join our surgical team as aSurgical Operations Manager, playing a key role in maintaining and elevating our gold standard of care.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and hands-onSurgical Operations Managerto oversee and optimize all facets of surgical operations within our state-of-the-art facility. This individual will be directly responsible for ensuring the seamless coordination of surgical cases, including staffing, compliance, instrumentation, and intraoperative support. The ideal candidate is experienced in surgical environments, comfortable working in a dynamic and demanding setting, and capable of balancing administrative leadership with hands-on clinical support.
Key Responsibilities- Staffing and Clinical Support
- Ensure a qualifiedfirst assist and circulatorare scheduled and present for all surgical procedures.
- Personally fulfill circulator or first assist roles when needed to support Dr. Maercks and ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure exceptional intraoperative performance.
- Surgical Readiness
- Guarantee thatall surgical instruments, implants, and equipmentare available, sterilized, and in optimal condition prior to each procedure.
- Coordinate with vendors and manage surgical case supply needs in advance of surgery dates.
- Maintain readiness for emergent or add-on cases.
- Inventory, Compliance & Log Management
- Oversee inventory systems for surgical supplies, medications, and instrumentation; ensure timely restocking and cost-effective usage.
- Maintain and auditsurgical logs, instrument tracking systems, and compliance documentationin alignment with regulatory standards (AHCA, OSHA, etc.).
- Lead periodic reviews to ensure consistent operational excellence and compliance.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between surgical staff, anesthesia providers, and administrative personnel to support surgical case flow.
- Partner with Dr. Maercks to continuously enhance patient safety, efficiency, and surgical outcomes.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and performance tracking.
- General Duties
- Participate in accreditation processes, inspections, and audits.
- Support onboarding and training of clinical staff.
- Contribute to developing and refining SOPs for surgical and perioperative operations.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of experience in surgical or perioperative management, preferably in an outpatient or private practice setting.
- Background as asurgical technologist, RN, PA-C, or first assiststrongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterile processing, OR protocols, and surgical workflows.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to anticipate surgical team needs.
- Proficiency with EMRs, scheduling systems, and compliance tracking tools.
- Proven leadership ability and the drive to perform hands-on support when necessary.

Salary Range$65,000 – $110,000annually, $65,000-$85000 base salary depending on experience and qualifications.
