Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) for the Surgical Oncology department. Under RN supervision, you will perform routine patient care tasks and support the care team in implementing the plan of care.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic nursing duties, specimen collection, dressing changes, and assisting with admissions as needed. Must have HS Diploma/GED and BLS, CPCT/PCTC/AUA certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required.
• Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) OR Patient Care Technician (PCTC) OR Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient health status under RN supervision and participates in care plans.
• Carries out physician and nursing orders within scope.
• Takes and records vital signs and weights.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring and telemetry setup.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers; transports patients as needed.
