Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Surgical Oncologist to join the cancer program at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. This full-time hospital-employed position offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach to delivering advanced oncologic care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of General Surgery Residency.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology or complex general surgical oncology preferred.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and collaborative practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with benign and malignant tumors requiring surgical management.
• Perform complex oncologic surgical procedures including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, soft tissue, and melanoma surgeries.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including biopsies, tumor resections, and lymph node dissections.
• Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cancer conferences and tumor boards.
• Provide consultation services and follow-up care for oncology patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital and regulatory standards.
