Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, Maine, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Surgical Oncologist to join Central Maine Medical Center's cancer care team.

This full-time, hospital-employed position offers multidisciplinary collaboration, access to advanced oncologic surgery, and opportunities to develop subspecialty focus with academic ties through regional residency programs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of General Surgery Residency.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology or complex general surgical oncology preferred.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with benign and malignant tumors requiring surgical management.
• Perform complex oncologic surgical procedures including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, soft tissue, and melanoma surgeries.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including biopsies, tumor resections, and lymph node dissections.
• Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cancer conferences and tumor boards.
• Provide consultation services and follow-up care for oncology patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital and regulatory standards.
