Qualifications

• Completion of an approved educational program for Nurse Practitioners
• Current licensed RN in CA authorized to use NP title or Nurse Midwife per BRN
• BLS provider certification and ongoing competency requirements

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain medical histories and perform examinations
• Order diagnostic tests, diagnose and prescribe treatments for common illnesses
• Perform screenings and procedures such as audiometry, breast exams, pelvic exams, Pap smears and tonometry
• Educate patients about medical, social and psychological conditions
• Provide primary care across age groups under physician supervision
