Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, DE seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide surgical patient care in a collaborative hospital setting. The NP will examine, diagnose, and manage chronic and acute conditions, coordinating with physicians and the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.

Requires a Master’s Degree and NP certification with BLS/ACLS. Two years of general surgery experience and postoperative management are required, with a preference for three years in a specialty area.

Qualifications

• Master's degree; Nurse Practitioner.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications; CSR/compact license as required by duties.
• Two years general surgery experience and post-operative management.
• Preferred: three years of NP experience in a similar area.

Responsibilities

• Examines patients, performs examinations, diagnoses and creates health plans.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary team to deliver care and document outcomes.
• Provides inpatient and perioperative care including pre, intra and post-op services as needed.
• Prescribes medications and orders lab tests per regulations and protocols.
• Maintains complete and compliant patient records in the EHR.
