A well-established surgical practice with 10+ affiliated offices is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its growing revenue cycle team.

This role requires expertise in medical billing, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and the ability to review operative reports to ensure accurate coding in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Nextech.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Review operative reports for accurate coding.
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Medical Billing, HIM, or related field preferred.
• CPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage for patient encounters.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in Nextech.
• Enter medical charges and ensure timely claim submission.
• Review operative reports to abstract coding information.
• Maintain EMR and Scheduled Not Billed reports.
• Complete workers compensation and no-fault forms.
• Review daily charge-entry reports for accuracy.
• Send non-participating letters to new patients.
• Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle tasks as needed.
