Job summary

Green Key Resources is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a well-established surgical practice with 10+ affiliated offices in the NY metro area. You will support the revenue cycle team in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of medical billing, strong ICD-10/CPT coding knowledge, and experience reviewing operative reports. Proficiency with Nextech EMR and excellent attention to detail are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of medical billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Experience reviewing operative reports for accurate coding.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• CPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage for patient encounters.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in Nextech.
• Enter medical charges and ensure timely claim submission.
• Review operative reports to abstract information for coding.
• Maintain EMR and Scheduled Not Billed reports.
• Complete workers compensation and no-fault forms.
• Review daily charge-entry reports for accuracy.
• Send non-participating letters to new patients.
• Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle tasks as needed.
