DHR Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Plastic & Recon Surgery Institute in McAllen, TX. This full-time role supports both administrative and clinical teams, including scribing, wound care, postoperative visits, and patient coordination.

You will take vitals, manage appointments, assist providers, handle calls, and maintain accurate records while delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative medical assisting functions and assist RN/MD.
• Take patient history and vital signs; coordinate referrals and appointments.
• Schedule and manage in-clinic and external referrals; ensure patient compliance.
• Scribe for physicians as needed.
• Assist with medications, immunizations, and phlebotomy as applicable.
• Maintain patient files and ensure timely lab results communication.
